The Lexmark X5470 is a multifunction printer which combines printer, scanner, fax, and copier into one useful device. The boxy body of Lexmark X5470 inkjet printer is silver, gray and glossy white. Perhaps this printer is a bit large for a home multifunction, but it’s light and easy to maneuver. The scanner lid has a built-in automatic document feeder that can hold up to 10 pages for batching scanning or copying. The flatbed scanner can hold pages up to A4 in size, but you can scan legal-size documents using the ADF.
The X5470 inkjet printer has two ink-tank systems: one color (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) and one black. For six-color photo printing black tank can be swapped out for an optional three-color photo ink tank. Regular capacity black tanks cost $20 to replace, while the tricolor tanks cost $22. The high-capacity versions cost $25 and $30, respectively.
The Lexmark X5470 has an excellent print speed as compared to other multifunctional printers. This printer is quite fast at text prints, spitting out 6.90 pages per minute. It printed 4×6 photos at 0.53ppm. X5470 is also pretty good with scanning too, scanning grayscale and color documents at 5.66ppm and 5.13ppm, respectively. Scanning grayscale and color documents have fairly good sharpness. The color scan of this multifunctional inkjet printer has decent color reproduction, but the scanner had some problems reproducing a smooth color gradient.
